Campus Face Lift

On November 28, 1944, Grace Lutheran Church started as a mission outreach church with a steeled determination to reach the surrounding community with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified for the forgiveness of sins.

Grace moved to its present location 245 West Wardlow Street, Long Beach, California, in 1964. Along with the move to the new location was the ever growing vision to begin a Christian based school for children.

In 1989, Grace stepped out in faith and opened their Preschool and in 2009 engaged in a brick and mortar preschool expansion to meet the needs of the community.

In doing so, Grace acknowledged the need to prioritize their missional dollars using them for Chrisitan education rather than for maintenance concerns. Over time this has left the campus with a number of major needs.

  • Grace needs the front and back parking lots reparied and resurfaced.
  • Grace needs a new roof for their sanctuary.
  • Grace needs to establish a maintenance endowment fund.
  • Our missional vision continues on today as our Lord brings to our little community families who desire to bring their children up in a Christian based school.

There in the classroom children learn about the love of God in Christ Jesus and take home with them the assruance of God's love for them and their families.

We are exceited and joyful to be a small part of their Chrisitan development and look forward to a continuing Christian presence within our community.

You may wonder how you might be a part of our missional outreach?

  • First, you can keep our missional vision in your daily prayers.
  • Second, you can tell your friends and family about our little preschool.
  • Third, you can pray about donating. Some families donate once, others chose to donate on a monthly basis; and still others prefer to designate their donations for a specific cause.
  • Fourth, come on out and join us for Bible Study on Sunday mornings at 9:00 A.M. in the Fireside Room.
  • Fifth, come and join in the celebration as we gather around Word and Sacrament and praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
  • Sixth, share your faith with those around you claiming the promsies of God in Christ as He encourages His disciples, "Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
  • Seventh, bring a friend along with you. They will be glad they came.
  • We have established a Go-Fund-Me page for donations. All donations are tax deductible.

We pray: Dear Father in heaven, You command us that we should with all boldness and confidence come before You and humbly present our petitions. We come in faith acknowledging You to be the Lord and Giver of Life, our Savior and Redeemer. As You have blessed us, help us to be a blessing to others. Watch over our friends and families and keep them safe from all harm and danger of both body and soul. Thank You for all the gifts You have given us. May we ever learn to use them in the service of Your kingdom. Thank you for those who continue to donate their time, talents, and treasures. Bless them, O LORD. Amen.
